Staying Healthy While Traveling is important, here are some important tips.
Be healthy when you start your journey: This may sound silly, but one reason that many travelers get so sick on vacation is that they didn’t have their immune systems built up before the left. You could take a daily multivitamin or at least consume plenty of vitamin C in the weeks leading up to your travel dates and then continue taking those vitamins while traveling.
– Hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes are your friends: Wipe down the tray table on the plane, wash your hands frequently, wipe down your arm rests too- Just these steps can save your body from millions of germs, make sure you wash your hands a lot!
– Water is a natural toxin flusher: Drink lots of water! Water flushes toxins and impurities out of your system by helping both the kidneys and the bowel to maintain their normal functions – eliminating waste. You know the old adage- eight glasses a day, but you can drink more if you feel the need to! If you are going to be exerting yourself a lot and/or subjecting yourself to hot temperatures you should up your water intake anyway. I try to drink a lot of coconut water since it is a great source of hydration and is really good for you.
– Watch what you eat and drink: Don’t overindulge at buffets and don’t drink too much. When you do these types of things not only are you setting yourself up to feel sick that night you could be dealing with hangovers and other ailments the next day. For raw fruits and vegetables make sure you wash them before consuming and never consume raw or under cooked meats.
