Getting married? Plan on attending some wedding shows?
Register for the show and start researching attending vendors before the show- Registering early will most likely save you money on admission and researching the vendors in advance will help you determine who you really want to see and talk to.
Have a date in mind- When you have a date set it makes things much easier for you because vendors will be able to tell you right then and there whether or not they have your date opened in their calendar. Not only will this save you the hassle of weeding out vendors that aren’t available for your day, it could save you money. Should you find the perfect cake decorator that offered samples that left you swooning you might be able to score a sweet deal if you book the day of the show since many vendors offer day of show discounts.
Settle on your budget and who is paying for what before attending- There is no sense continuing to chat with a photographer that is charging double or triple what your budget can allow for. However, having a clear number in mind for all expenses will make it easier to determine if you want to cut costs in one area of the wedding to make room for another.
Come with pre-filled address labels- This one might seem silly or strange to some, but to other brides you will think I’m a genius! Every vendor asks for the same things- your wedding date, your name, your address, your email, your phone number and your fiancés name. Having a bunch of labels pre-filled with this information will enable you to just slap a sticker on the vendor forms and contest entry forms instead of writing the same info over and over.
Other things to know in advance that will make vendor shopping easier- who is in your bridal party, where you want to #honeymoon, where you want to get married, your wedding colors, etc…
